Oh Snap!I've been super busy lately, so I haven't been able to upload or update much. Keep in mind though, that I do log on and read messages, journals, and check out deviations! I've been swamped with ISUs, projects, essays, and assignments! I barely have any time to myself! No time to read, draw, write, or play guitar!
On a lighter note, I'm going to be 18 in 52 days! YES I'm counting down! It's a BIG thing!
Last weekend was my sister's birthday, so I was all over the place. PLUS, "work" and school.
Today, I had a retreat at the L'Arche community downtown. It was pretty neat! It was basically a big workshop focused on personal development, and identity as a person in our society, and God's society. L'Arches are communities created by Jean Vanier, a Canadian, to house, care for, and help involve mentally disabled people in the community. It's a great cause, and they can be found all around the world! Seriously, I don't think I've very seen such a legitimate, and caring cause. Before these places were created, mental illness was a huge void in society. They were often neglected, ignored, and mistreated - tossed aside by our cruelty. With these communities, and they stress the word community, they are given a place to live, work, and develop, without prejudice or intolerance. They're given lives, not just pastimes and activities. I'm sure it's not the last time I'll be dealing with them.
So, here's my weekend to relax and catch up with things I've missed during the week! Wish me luck!
